Doctor Larry E. Millikan received his MD degree from the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia, following which he took his internship in the US Navy then as senior flight surgeon on the USS Lake Champlain and as flight surgeon to VR3 Maguire AFB NJ, following which he trained in dermatology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He then returned to Missouri, becoming Professor and Vice-Chairman under the late Dr. Philip C. Anderson. Subsequently, he served for 25 years as Professor and Chairman of Dermatology at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana, being elected Professor and Chair Emeritus in the Katrina aftermath.
In addition to membership in the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Dermatological Association, Women’s Dermatologic Society, and the European Academy of Dermatology and Venerology, he serves on the editorial boards of several dermatology publications and is Deputy Editor of Clinics in Dermatology. His interests include medical education, clinical dermatology, tropical dermatology, dermatologic surgery, mycology, and infectious diseases.
