Venkataram Mysore, MD, FRCP (Hon, Glasgow)

Dr. Venkataram Mysore received both his MD degree and his dermatology and venereology training at the University of Mysore, India. He is presently the Director of the Venkat Charmalaya Centre for Advanced Dermatology and Post Graduate Training Institute, Bangalore, India.

Dr. Mysore represents the unique combination of dermatologist, dermatopathologist, and cutaneous surgeon. being a Diplomate of the Royal College of Pathologists (Lond), a Fellow of Royal College of Physicians, (Hon, Glasgow), and International Travelling Mentor of the American Society of Dermatosurgery. He is the author of a textbook on general dermatology and editor-in-chief of a textbook on cutaneous surgery, as well as the past editor of the Journal of Cutaneous and Aesthetic Surgery.

He serves as President of the Cutaneous Surgeons of India; Chairman, Therapeutic Guidelines Committee, Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists, and Nephrologists, and President-elect of the Association of Hair Restorations Surgeons of India. He is a member of the Training Committee and Task Force on Finasteride Adverse Effects of the International Society for Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS), and Faculty of the Dermatopathology Fellowship Program of the Asian Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (AADV). He is an International Fellow of American Academy of Dermatology and a member of the International Society for Hair Restoration Surgery, International Academy of Cosmetic Dermatology, and Asian Academy of Dermatology and Venereology. He has published over 80 papers, an atlas on dermatopathology, three books for community education, and a documentary on vitiligo, ” Towards Light.”
